Community Development Officer – Good Neighbour Scheme

Main Purpose:

This role will help to ensure those experiencing the highest levels of disadvantage, isolation, loneliness and deprivation due to closure of facilities, service cuts, poverty and digital exclusion have access to essential services via the Good Neighbour Scheme. The staff and volunteer team provide direct and tailored practical support aimed at reducing loneliness and isolation, increasing confidence, maintaining independence, improving wellbeing and building resilience to face the many challenges associated with ageing. Please note, there is no care or personal care provided within this service.

We are looking for a dynamic, empathetic individual who can co-ordinate frontline support services, work with volunteers, raise the profile of the organisation, help with fundraising and build strong relationships with our service users, partners and stakeholders.

Location:                    Alfred Street, Neath, SA11 1EH

Hours:                         37.5 hours per week (job share / part time work considered)

Annual leave:          28 days plus statutory bank holidays (pro rata)

Salary:                         circa £28,800 p.a.

Term:                           Initially funded until 31st March 2027 (with opportunity for extension)
